The best way to address violence is to stop it before it ever happens. That’s the ultimate goal of The Women’s Center and the following services.
Play it Safe!®
The Play it Safe!® program uses age-appropriate materials to speak to children Pre-K through high school in ways they can best learn and respond. Scripts and movies are developed through our evidence-informed approach to teach children how to reduce their risk of sexual and physical abuse by recognizing potentially abusive behavior, responding appropriately to threatening situations, and reporting abuse to a trusted adult.
Since 1983, more than 1.5 million children in North Texas have learned about personal safety from The Women’s Center Play it Safe!® program. Curriculum overviews and movie trailers can be found at PlayItSafe.org. To make arrangements for a Play it Safe!® presentation for your school, school district, organization, or group free of charge in Tarrant County, please complete the online request form.
