Volunteer Information Session

Learn more about becoming a direct service volunteer at an Information Session. Information Sessions are held in January and September.

Thursday, September 10  |  6 – 7 p.m.
Saturday, September 12  |  10 – 11 a.m.
Friday, September 18  |  12 – 1 p.m.

Victim Advocate: Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to sexual assault survivors (adults and adolescents) and their families at local hospitals and on the 24-hour Rape Crisis and Victim Services Hotline.

Helpline Volunteer: During the weekday, answer The Women’s Center Helpline to provide emotional support and problem- solving assistance to people in difficult and sometimes crisis situations. Offer information about The Women’s Center’s services along with referrals to community resources.

*Department Support Volunteer: Work with the staff of the Employment Solutions department on projects such as: filing, copying, organizing, sorting, data entry into confidential database, and completing various projects.

*Employment Advisor: Assist participants with their job search by working with them in a variety of ways, including: computer lab assistance, conducting mock interviews, facilitating Specialty Seminars, or conducting follow-up telephone calls with participants and entering the results into confidential database.

*These positions are not currently recruiting
