Volunteer Information Session

Learn more about becoming a direct service volunteer at an Information Session. Information Sessions are held in January and September.

Please click one of the dates below to RSVP for one of the upcoming Volunteer Information Sessions:

Thursday, September 5th from 6 – 7 pm
Saturday, September 7th from 10 – 11 am
Friday, September 13th from 12 – 1 pm

Victim Advocate: Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to sexual assault survivors (adults and adolescents) and their families at local hospitals and on the 24-hour Rape Crisis and Victim Services Hotline.

Helpline Volunteer: During the weekday, answer The Women’s Center Helpline to provide emotional support and problem- solving assistance to people in difficult and sometimes crisis situations. Offer information about The Women’s Center’s services along with referrals to community resources.

Department Support Volunteer: Work with the staff of the Employment Solutions department on projects such as: filing, copying, organizing, sorting, data entry into confidential database, and completing various projects.

Employment Advisor: Assist participants with their job search by working with them in a variety of ways, including: computer lab assistance, conducting mock interviews, facilitating Specialty Seminars, or conducting follow-up telephone calls with participants and entering the results into confidential database.
